Serving institutional, corporate, and government clients worldwide, the division provides a broad range of services including foreign exchange (FX), equities, fixed income, investment banking, and advisory services.
As one of the largest FX market makers globally, UBS Investment Bank has a strong reputation for electronic trading innovation and client-focused digital platforms. The firm operates in highly regulated, high-stakes environments where performance, reliability, and user trust are critical.
In this context, UX design plays a vital role in enabling traders and clients to make fast, informed decisions through efficient, intuitive, and resilient interfaces — particularly within platforms like FX Trader+, where speed and clarity are essential.

FX Trader+ was UBS Investment Bank's proprietary electronic foreign exchange (FX) trading platform, designed for institutional clients and professional traders. The platform provided real-time access to a broad range of FX products — including spot, forwards, swaps, and options — with an emphasis on speed, precision, and execution efficiency.
As part of UBS's e-commerce strategy during the early 2010s, FX Trader+ played a key role in enhancing electronic trading capabilities, providing clients with a competitive, high-performance alternative to voice trading.
My UX work contributed to improving the usability, layout, and performance under pressure, helping users better manage risk and navigate increasingly complex workflows in a demanding trading environment.
I also led the design of the native mobile version of FX Trader+, UBS's first iOS trading application. It was both an enjoyable and challenging experience — collaborating closely with the Product Owner to translate the functionality of the desktop platform into a compact mobile format, while learning and applying Apple's Human Interface Guidelines along the way.

I worked with Yooch within the Client Portal team for four years after he transferred teams from Fixed Income, Rates & Currencies, where he was instrumental in implementing a new visual design and building the award-winning FXWeb research and analytics portal. Yooch was responsible for further developing this new visual design language and rolling it out across other web applications across the Investment Bank and was our resident subject matter expert on emerging web technologies, web standards, accessibility, interaction design and usability best practices. Yooch is a passionate, committed and talented individual who has the respect of everyone who worked with him in the Investment Bank. It has been a real pleasure to have worked with Yooch and I can recommend him without any hesitation.
